Applocker in Windows 7

Applocker in Windows 7

AppLocker is a new feature in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 that advances the features and functionality of Software Restriction Policies. AppLocker contains new capabilities and extensions that allow you to create rules to allow or deny applications. You can specify which users or groups can run those applications.

     Difference between Software Restriction Policy and Applocker

Configure Applocker

Open Gpedit.msc-> Computer Configuration-> Windows setting-> Security setting-> Application Control Policies

Right Click Executable Rule->

Select User or Group-> Next -> Path Rule->

Browse Executable File-> Next->

Next-Create

Now your created rule should display in list, try to open blocked program. It should not be open.
