In simple word computer virus is a program or software which is harmful for computer.It is an executable program which can damage your data or can do anything depend on the type of virus.
Antivirus is a software which is used to remove malicious program. Antivirus prevent us from Browser hijackers, keyloggers, backdoors, Trojans, rootkits etc.

Above listed tools are able to resolve these kind of issues
1. IE giving message for all websites “Internet Explorer could not display the page”
2. Web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) freezes, hangs or unresponsive and we are not able to change home page of our browser
5. We are getting web-browser popup messages Strange or unexpected toolbars appear at the top of web browser
6. Computer restart by itself.
7. If getting unusual error messages (e.g., missing or corrupt files folders)
8. If we are unable to access any file and folder.
It can be that our computer will not allow us to download any software or we are not able to do anything then we need to follow these steps.
1. Restart your computer in Safe mode with networking
Steps: Restart computer and in When computer start press f8 key repeatedly and you will get advanced boot option menu then choose safe mode with networking.
2. Remove tools which are not in use ==> windows key + R => Run => appwiz.cpl => select program which is not in use and click on uninstall
3. If still you have problems in downloading any software or doing anything create new user
Windows Key + R => Run => cmd => net user Test King123 /add
{where net user is command to create user , Test is username, King123 is password and /add option is used to add this user}
If you want to remove the password of user
Windows key +R => Run => cmd=> net user Test *
now just hit the enter key twice to make password blank
4. Login by new user then download above utilities.

Memory resident virus : It is also knows as TSR (Terminate stay resident) This is a kind of virus which stays in memory when infected program runs and even it will be in memory after terminating the infected program and when we will open any other program it will start infecting other programs.
Non-memory resident virus will be closed when the infected application terminated.
The symptoms of Resident Viruses can include performance issues, data loss, hard drives crashes or that result in an unstable and unresponsive system.
Remove memory resident virus :
Remove unknown application from start-up
