Printer Troubleshooting

Printer Troubleshooting

There are two ways to configure printer.
            1.    Wired Connection
            2.    Wireless Connection

Wired Connection is very easy . We just need to plug printer with computer via USB cable and it will install driver automatically and it start working.

If It is not installing driver automatically you can manually download latest driver of your printer and can install it. In middle of installation it will ask that how you want to configure printer.
                                                 Select USB method => Next
it will say insert the USB cable and if cable is already plugged, it will detect the cable in a minute. If it is not detecting the cable then make sure that printer is on and USB cable is connected properly.
if everything okay and this is still not working then change the USB port in computer end. If it work then fine if it is still  not printing change the USB cable.

My professional experience with printer

I will explain all my experience with you all. If you have any query you can mail me at
I work in a KPO. I got a call customer said i changed my router and printer stopped working.
I took the remote of customer and started working

Steps followed by me are given below
1. Window Key + R => Run => control printers => Right click on printer => printer properties => port => check the ip address
I got the IP address : 192.168.0.5
2.  I ping to 192.168.0.5
it was not pinging
3.  Windows Key + R => Run => cmd => ipconfig => i came to know IP address of computer is  192.168.1.3 and router ip is 192.168.1.1
4.   Open Internet explorer => Type 192.168.1.1     in the URL
Router page open =>  I typed the username admin and password Password
and I got the page of Router and went to status option .
I got that router released IP only 192.168.1.3

5. I said to customer that connect printer directly to computer via USB cable.
I ran Printer driver and selected wireless . It  showed me Printer Ip address 192.168.0.5 => { This range is different from router range so this is not possible to use this IP }
I said to customer that go to printer settings and reset printer to its factory settings and restart the Printer.
It was still having previous IP address and was not taking IP through new router.
I used all possible ways like USB to wireless, Printer TCP/IP setting manual IP, WPS( Wi-fi protected setup) connection nothing was working.
I worked in this case two hours and there was no success
suddenly it came to mind that change the router DHCP range to previous router range.
I Changed the router range and assign as it was in previous router ( In the range of 192.168.0.*)
and printer started working wirelessly because it was already having same range IP address.

I got same case again after few months then i was aware of the solution. so i was able to resolve it in 2 minutes.

                                           Troubleshooting
Printer was printing before one hour now stopped working

Steps:
1. Turn off the printer and Turn it back on.
2. Check USB cable is connected properly ( If printer is wired)
3. If printer is wireless and it was printing before and now this is not printing then
Windows key + R => Run => Control printers => click on Add new printer =>
Select second option wireless=> next => it will detect printer on network and will show you printer IP Address => select IP Address=> next => now it will ask which printer model do you have => select printer company and model number => next => it will start installing driver => finish.

{ If this is not detecting then remove all printers and use USB to wireless convert method as discussed above)
